Åsa Degerman leads the circular innovation team at Essity & Tork developing innovative circular business models and bringing them to market. Currently launching Tork PaperCircle – an award-winning and unique service that recycles paper hand towels into new tissue products reducing carbon emissions with more than 40% and waste with 20%.
Åsa is a member of the expert reference group to the Swedish government’s delegation on Circular Economy, a delegate in the world’s leading circularity network CE100 at Ellen MacArthur Foundation, and a member of ICC Sweden´s working group on circular economy.
Åsa has extensive experience in circular economy. She has represented Essity at the 2019 CEPI-EU Parliament meeting on reducing the carbon footprint of the paper industries and at the European Recycling Paper Awards in 2017.
